Everyday Rewards Extra Review: More Points, Big Savings
Everyone knows that grocery bills have significantly risen across Australia in recent years.
Some everyday items are double the price that they were just a few years ago.
However, there is a handy way to save on groceries at Woolworths while earning valuable Qantas Frequent Flyer points.
It’s called Everyday Rewards Extra – and we believe that it is worth the yearly subscription cost.
All about Everyday Rewards Extra
The standard Woolworths Everyday Rewards program has more than 14.5 million members, ranking just behind Qantas Frequent Flyer when it comes to the most popular loyalty programs in Australia.
However, the benefits of this free program are fairly minimal.
You essentially earn 1 Everyday Rewards point for every $1 that you spend on groceries.
These points can be used for money off a future shop or may be converted to Qantas points.
The effective Qantas points earn is 0.5 per $1 spent at Woolworths.
Comparatively, the Everyday Rewards Extra program costs $7 per month - or $70 per year - but has many more benefits.
You receive:
2 x Everyday Rewards points on every shop at Woolworths and Big W
10% off one shop each month at Woolworths, in-store or online
10% off one shop each month at Big W, in-store or online
Subscriber-only freebies and offers
Some of the freebies we’ve received from the program have included a free bottle of T2 Ice Tea, a free pack of Handee paper towels, a free Pop Box microwave popcorn, a free tub of Dairy Farmers yoghurt and even a free roll of rubbish bags.
Everyday Rewards Extra Review
A lot of people will wonder: Is paying for this program worth it?
It is for us!
Let’s say you do one big shop each month at Woolworths, which costs $250.
If you have Everyday Rewards Extra and use your 10% off discount, you will save $25 each month – or $300 a year.
That is more than four times the cost of the subscription.
The 10% off discounts are valid on a single transaction value of up to $500, meaning you can save up to $50 a month – or $600 a year.
By earning 2 Everyday Rewards points per dollar – twice the regular amount – you are also enjoying an effective earn rate of 1 Qantas point per dollar spent on groceries.
If you spend $500 per month on groceries at Woolworths, that equates to 6000 Qantas points per year – 3000 points more than you would earn with the standard Everyday Rewards program.
We value Qantas points at 1 to 1.5 cents each, but you can derive value of 4.5 cents or more from your points on certain flights.

Even fairly irregular Woolworths or Big W shoppers could recoup their subscription cost – and more – from these cut-price subscription offers.
These $35 sales have been running twice a year, with the offer having been available in November 2023, April 2024 and November 2024.
